WORKS — CHIANG MAI / JAPAN

A song meets another language. The exchange between Chiang Mai band SANIMYOK and Eito produced “น้ำหอม” and the Japanese version of “Free Bird.” Into Thai, then into Japanese: listening to both reveals music traveling in two directions.

2024 | From “Kousui” to “น้ำหอม” in Thai

Released on August 7, 2024, “น้ำหอม -香水- feat.SANIMYOK” presents Eito's “Kousui” in Thai. Eito asked SANIMYOK to arrange it, and they recorded in Chiang Mai. A local Thai crew also filmed the music video.

Credited to EITO feat.SANIMYOK, the recording brings the Chiang Mai band's performance and arrangement, and Thai vocals, to a song originally created in Japan.

“น้ำหอม” revisits the Thai version of “Kousui” released in 2022. The official August 8, 2024 announcement introduced SANIMYOK's new arrangement and Eito's first overseas-shot music video, made with a local Thai crew. Beyond singing a Japanese song in Thai, they recreated its performance and visuals with local collaborators.

2025 | SANIMYOK's “Free Bird” in Japanese

On September 5, 2025, the Japanese version of SANIMYOK feat.EITO's “Free Bird” was released. This time, SANIMYOK's song was the starting point: a collaboration bringing the Chiang Mai band's music into Japanese with Eito.

In a Tourism Authority of Thailand interview, they recalled meeting at the Shambhala Festival in Chiang Dao, choosing the song after discussing it with the members, and recording while looking out at Chiang Mai's natural scenery. Time spent choosing a song and building its sound together led to this recording.

The Thai original and the Japanese version: follow the melody and compare the voices and sounds of each language to hear the different expressions within one song.

“Free Bird,” in turn, is a collaboration presenting SANIMYOK's song in Japanese. According to the official September 5, 2025 announcement, they developed it through live performances for over a year before releasing the recording and music video. The path from live exchanges to a release is also part of their collaborative process.

The next collaboration | JaiYenYen

The third collaboration between SANIMYOK and Eito is “JaiYenYen.” As of October 16, 2026, it has not yet been released.

Details such as the release date and streaming platforms will be announced once confirmed. Explore their collaboration so far through the released “น้ำหอม” and “Free Bird,” and photographs from their Japan tours.

Taking their collaborations to Japanese stages

The connection between recordings continued into live performance. On October 12, 2025, at Japan–Thailand Culture Festival 2025 at Kakuozan Nittaiji, a photograph of the stage before the temple gate and an audience under umbrellas captures one scene from the Japan tour.
